Prof Dr Vladimir Čanadanović, MD, PhD, consultant ophthalmologist and Full Professor.

His professional work focuses primarily on modern cataract surgery and paediatric ophthalmology.

Education and academic work

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, in 1995, completed his master's studies in 2004 and defended his doctoral dissertation in 2008.

As a recipient of a European ophthalmology scholarship, he has undertaken advanced professional training at prestigious European clinics on several occasions.

He has worked at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, since 1996. He began his academic career as a teaching assistant and subsequently became an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and then Full Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology. He demonstrates exceptional expertise and dedication in his work with students, and his teaching has received high evaluations from students.

Scientific and professional work

He has published numerous papers in international and Serbian journals, as well as in proceedings from scientific and professional meetings in Serbia and abroad. He is the author of five chapters in three textbooks.

He has contributed to the development of younger researchers by supervising three successfully defended doctoral dissertations. He has mentored numerous graduation theses and student papers and has served as chair of the committee for specialist examinations at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad.

Prof Dr Vladimir Čanadanović participated in two scientific research projects supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The results were published in prominent international and Serbian journals.

Professional activities

His professional engagement includes numerous specialist activities. He has served as Vice President of the Serbian Ophthalmological Society and is a member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Serbian Medical Society, the Committee for Third-Cycle Studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Serbian association of cataract surgeons. He has also served on scientific and organising committees for national scientific and professional meetings.
