Dr Veljko Andreić, MD, PhD, consultant ophthalmologist and Doctor of Medical Sciences.

Dr Andreić specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and surgery of glaucoma and cataract. He gained more than 20 years of experience at the University Eye Clinic of the Clinical Centre of Vojvodina in Novi Sad. He has also presented glaucoma research at numerous international and Serbian ophthalmology congresses.

Education

He was born in Novi Sad in 1974. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad in 2000. He completed his specialist training in ophthalmology at the Eye Clinic of the Clinical Centre of Vojvodina in 2006. In 2013, he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad for his dissertation entitled "The neuroprotective effect of betaxolol, dorzolamide, brimonidine and Ginkgo biloba extract EGB 761 in normal-tension glaucoma".

Scientific work

In addition to his doctoral dissertation, he has contributed to glaucoma research by publishing scientific papers in relevant journals, including Current Eye Research.

Advanced professional training

Dr Andreić has advanced his knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and cataract through professional training at the University Eye Clinic in Lisbon, Portugal, an Advanced Glaucoma Course in Geneva, Switzerland, an optic nerve head evaluation course in glaucoma in Ascot, United Kingdom, and training in laser-assisted combined non-penetrating glaucoma surgery in Helsinki, Finland.
